I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC.

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.

Shall we get this straight, the BBC may have been in error to edit Trump’s Jan 6th speech, but I don’t believe for one iota that Trump’s intentions and actions were significantly misrepresented at all by the BBC in that Panorama documentary, and any suggestion to the contrary is patently risible.

I’ve just about had it with websites which give you an easy button to reject non-necessary cookies, let alone the ones which don’t provide the required easy option. Now I’m being asked, via my previously uninvolved phone, to consent to cookies just for listening to the radio on the Alexa!?!?

This piece is slightly frustrating, because pretty much every pro-democracy organisation warned that the Online Safety Act did not do anything to tackle (non-sexual) AI deepfakes - - e.g. political disinformation / foreign interference campaigns - when it was going through. Those calls were ignored.
'The explosion of AI-driven social media has created an online public realm where fake news, manipulated content & deliberate misinformation spread unchecked'

A recent AI deepfake showed Tory MP George Freeman defecting to Reform. Writing for The House, he says parliamentary democracy is at stake
I was the victim of an AI deepfake yet the law was unable to protect me
We've allowed the growth of a dangerous digital space where pretty much anything goes.

Has any company admitted to AI generated adverts so far? Because I think I’ve just seen what I think is an entirely AI generated TV advert for eToro on Comedy Central. Don’t know what’s worse, the AI or using it to convince the general public to blindly gamble their money on the financial markets.

Donald Trump, ladies and gentlemen of the jury: less “peacemaker”, more handmaiden of Putin and Netanyahu.
"The US president tossed aside maps of the frontline in Ukraine, insisted Zelenskyy surrender the entire Donbas region to Putin, and repeatedly echoed talking points the Russian leader had made in their call a day earlier"

Shocked. Shocked I tell you. Isreal…resuming bombing Gaza and blocking vital aid? Surely not! I'm going to need a moment to process this completely and utterly unexpected turn of events.

Today in “People showing the world who they really are”, everyone’s second favourite blind singer, Andrea Bocelli, sings for the racist, fascist, hateful rape-monger in chief inside his tacky gold effect Oval Office.

Its a bit naff, and I don't think it should be allowed, for ITV, via Amazon Prime, to be using the England v Wales match to to get people signed up to ITVx Premium. Its free to air on ITV and you don't need to pay for it. Scammers.

Republicans control both chambers in the US Congress as well as the White House, not to mention the Supreme Court. The Washington Post’s attempts to blame Democrats for another Trump shutdown is not just a betrayal of truth and good journalism, but proof that the Republicans control them now too.
Breaking news: The government will shut down at 12:01 a.m., after Senate Democrats blocked a Republican bill to extend the funding deadline.

It’s the first shutdown since 2018-2019.

Government funding will run out at the end of the day, and lawmakers do not have a bipartisan solution.

I've no other way of putting this than fuck right off. What the ever loving hell is this? The "autism problem" Please yeet yourself into the sun post haste.

It’s truly astonishing how utterly the US President is thoroughly embarrassing both himself and the United States in front of the UN, in front of the world. Do Americans realise no one else can fathom how Americans can abide such an incapable and mentally impaired man remaining in power?

The reporting from some corners of the media of this harmful health misinformation being spewed by the Trump administration is disturbingly incompetent and outrageously irresponsible. The answer, btw, is no, the significant and trusted medical data tells us paracetamol doesn’t cause autism.

Imagine the Health Secretary acknowledging racists feel more safe and trans people feel less safe than 10 years ago, but failing to acknowledge the part he has played in it! And find a way forward people can “live with”. What a hopeful vision of the future he paints. 🙄
Health Secretary Wes Streeting says the government must recognise and respond to a "increasingly visible tide of racism" . He acknowledges trans people feel less safe today than a decade ago.

What a revolting, cynical statement for a man who was an MP of the party that ruled for 14 years until five minutes ago - and David Cameron's speech writer before that.

What contempt for voters. ~AA
