As for legal action, the threat to sue the BBC for $1bn (over £760mn) for “false and defamatory statements” and “overwhelming financial and reputational harm” is preposterous, and I’d hope the BBC legal team any English Judge would treat it with the disdain such a ludicrous clam deserves.

Whilst an apology and correction is probably in order, any retraction is an absurd overreaction and would give the erroneous impression that Trump’s lies are truth, that his election denial is justified, and that the facts about the Jan 6 insurrection he desperately wants to erase are fiction.

Lies being told by Trump and RFK Jr will cause widespread uncertainty at best & at worst mass panic, whilst putting both women & babies at risk. The news should be giving time to medical experts to call out the bulshit rather than giving the crazies rolling coverage and putting out clickbait.
