Trump's (really Russia's) supposed Russia/Ukraine peace plan reminds me of this 2023 Pawel Kuczynski drawing.

If Mamdani can call out Trump’s fascism to his face—honoring the truth instead of deforming it to fit politics of a gone-forever past—then House Dems can honor the truth instead of backing away from it as if from a trap. Even my usually progressive representative rubber-stamped this nonsense, ffs.

I'll be glad to vote for Swalwell. He's been satisfyingly fiery, never self-censoring to wait & see how Trump's lies play to the public. He hasn't been intimidated by MAGA bullying & threats, and he's shown enough personal charm to be blunt & tough without making listeners or reporters feel scolded.
Swalwell just announced on Kimmel he’s running for Governor. I can get behind that! Wasn’t thrilled about Katie Porter.

How long can Trump bully universities into chilling speech & being his thought police? Universities used to pride themselves on hosting talks & seminars on these topics. Uni students/young people care about these things, even if some elders got bored & looked away or got too jaded/defeatist to care.
This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

Officials are facing threats and intimidation for resisting Trump’s plan. The situation is particularly alarming in Indiana, where four Republican lawmakers have been targeted in so-called “swatting” incidents after voting against a partisan redistricting session.

He thinks fake outrage and bullying are clever tricks to avoid answering. I hope the public notices which questions he evades by slandering female reporters. All reporters should move those to the top of the ask list.
Montage of 19 clips of Trump insulting, berating, demeaning and attacking female reporters over the past few months. Part 1.

Amazing how many think 10 commandments are basically don’t-lie-murder-steal, so why not put them in front of school kids? They forget 1st 4 demand things many parents disagree with & no American has ever been obligated to do, like worship no other gods, make no idols, & worship on a designated day.

Trump thinks gov't can wash its hands of health insurance by sending some (clearly inadequate) sum to individuals to "negotiate" their own, when no insurer of anyone/anything negotiates that way with individuals (not employers) now. And where do people with e.g. preexisting conditions go if refused?
"Traditional health insurance" pre-ACA didn't cover pre-ex, had annual/lifetime caps, didn't cover important things like having a baby, led to many declaring bankruptcy when they got sick. Even then, ~50M had no insurance at all because they still couldn't afford it. They clogged ERs to get care.

Selling people into slavery is so evil that I don’t even know how to characterize paying others to accept & enslave people we send them.

I'd love to vote for Eric Swalwell! He's been impressively articulate & outspoken in championing a return to lawful, sane, caring governance. And Trump targeting him for a phony mortgage fraud investigation is a real badge of honor -- he only sics his DOJ on clever, effective, unbowed Dem "enemies."
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) is considering a bid for governor of California and is expected to make a decision within the coming weeks, according to a source familiar with his plans.

I find Hassett's constant I'm-adorable-when-I-lie smile repulsive. And I doubt even he believes that smug expression & patronizing tone hide his deception. He comes across as wanting us, mere plebeian listeners, to know he's mocking us, enjoying a cat-and-mouse game of jerking us around for Trump.
Kevin Hassett on the October jobs report: "We'll maybe be able to concoct something, but we'll never actually know for sure what the unemployment rate was in October."

Wow, the search for silver linings is going into overdrive. How can anyone pretend anything justified a vote that (let’s face it, until at least 2028) prices millions out of healthcare coverage?

An empty promise. Nor would it make up for added cost of tariffed goods or how fast Trump policies weaken the $.
E.g in 2024 1€ = $.97, now $.86. 2024 $1 = 162 ¥, now 154¥. $ is even weaker against £, peso, francs & it’s sinking fast. Trump maroons us in this nightmare by putting travel out of reach

The comments are disturbing. Every prisoner in every facility should be safe & comfortable. In civilized nations with less recidivism, prison is deemed punishment enough. Wanting filth, danger, spoiled food, crowding too is considered inhumane. What a prison inflicts on 1 prisoner it inflicts on all
Convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell's prison emails show she is 'happier' at the minimum-security Texas facility the Trump administration transferred her to.

No wonder GOP behaves as if it won’t be remembered for or held accountable for this suffering, cruelty, illegality. It watched USA memory-hole that George W’s GOP glamorized Guantanamo horrors, reframed torture & wars of choice as macho, ruined Iraq (esp its women) and treated our soldiers as slaves
A man rushed to the Broadview ICE facility searching for his wife. They followed every legal step, but ICE took her into another room and she vanished. He tracked her phone there when the signal died. Police told him to “look up her name online.” He sat in the parking lot, weeping, with no answers.

Every pol, lawyer, judge in America should be screaming "DUE PROCESS!" It's a disgrace that Trump gets away with rounding up, imprisoning, shipping off 10s of 1000s. Even heinous mass arrests & deportations under 1919's Alien & Sedition Acts led to swift intervention by Congress to require hearings

The Trump regime has fired an estimated 70 immigration judges since February. Nearly half previously defended immigrants in court.

Remember: it was never about legal immigration. It was always about cruelty.
