October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Eleanor Johnson, whose horror substack is terrific, has been writing about dv and I highly recommend her eloquence, pragmatism, wit, and courage.

Trump sympathizes with the man accused of domestic violence.
Trump minimizes domestic abuse during a talk at the Museum of the Bible: "Things that take place in the home, they call crime ... If a man has a little fight with the wife, they say this was a crime, see?"

Where are the voices of the girls Epstein and Trump abused? Kate Manne transcribed Katie Johnson’s (a pseudonym) account of how Trump allegedly raped her at Epstein’s home in 1994. She was 13 and wore a blonde wig that Trump allegedly said made her look like Ivana, who was 13yo at the time.

It is a crisis.
🚨BREAKING: Cal State LA just moved classes online and let faculty work remotely, not for a storm, not for COVID, but because ICE is in the area.

Let that sink in, an entire university is treating immigration enforcement like a public health crisis.

#MeToo cases like Diddy, Lively-Baldoni, and Depp-Heard are important because of what they say about money. Juries still see procuring (paying for), and settlements (paying off) about sexual violence as sex.
