Forgot about this place again. Whoops. So I’ve moved house, redecorated three and a half rooms, and spent today solidly tidying up and cleaning so I can host a Hallowe’en housewarming tomorrow. Fancy dress has been strongly encouraged. It’s either going to be phenomenal or disastrous.

silicon’d up the blanks this evening. Whole lot of bubbles - but I did figure out I can get myself a little vacuum chamber for a reasonable price, which would also be handy for the actual resin… hmmm…

I’m gently nudging my way into Pottery Bluesky apparently. I’m not and don’t really intend to be; my interest is largely in going OH THAT’S SO PRETTY and learning how to make my wife (who doesn’t really do social media but is taking pottery classes) the best possible pottery studio she can have

Linguists have identified a new English dialect that's emerging in South Florida
It came about through sustained contact with native Spanish speakers who directly translated phrases from Spanish into English, a form of linguistic borrowing called ‘calques.’

Someday, sometime, I’ll work out the perfect methods to make blanks to pour silicon over to make resin moulds. 3D printing didn’t cut it. Current experiment is perspex. Updates to follow.

Lost the ball of my lip labret and annoyingly I don’t have any spare bioflex push-fits of the right size, so I’m intermittently prodding the inside of my lip with my tongue as if that’ll remind it not to close up before replacements show up today.
