Sadly, wild tufted puffin populations are rapidly declining due to stressors like plastic pollution, which they often mistake for fishy food in the ocean.

We hatch and raise adorable pufflings here at the Aquarium as part of a Species Survival Plan to protect and conserve this irreplaceable species.

We had a lot of fun showing @schiff.senate.gov around @montereybayaquarium.org last week. Our sea otter exhibit and our work to rescue, rehabilitate, and return stranded animals to the wild captured his heart. We're grateful for all the Senator is doing so people and the ocean can thrive together.
