My mid-sized Texas city (250k people) has ZERO public transit.
I checked the options for a trip 10 miles away (~20 min by car).
Google gave me this as the best option:
3h45m - a combo of Lyft, Greyhound, walking, a train in another city, and waiting

If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:
- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention

Duolingo has also been getting steadily worse. It is not a great tool for language learning. It's a game. The way it handles ads and hearts is 100% mobile game BS.

It really feels like we are rapidly approaching the point where more text on the Internet is generated by AI than written by humans. The amount of AI slop I accidentally encounter on a daily basis is staggering.

It really feels like we are rapidly approaching the point where more text on the Internet is generated by AI than written by humans. The amount of AI slop I accidentally encounter on a daily basis is staggering.
