I’ve tolerated the Substack app because writers I value publish there, & its daily notifications for people I don’t follow are tedious but ignorable. Today it pushed me straight hate speech. I hope settings>notifications>preferences>marketing>”suggested content” is the way to turn this off but oy

💪 Check this out so I can finally make these Rockford Files golfers into my dream tag team!
Okay, so this is a golf course, but in the 70s or so early in the 80s it might as well be in the 70s. There are three men in the foreground, approaching the camera in a casually threatening sort of way. The two in the front have classic pro wrestling beefy bods. The one on the left is wearing bright red pants and a polo with a pastel vertical zigzag pattern on it. He has a big bushy beard and a mane of light brown hair that truly invokes the over all appearance of a lion. The one on the right is a little taller, but not quite as swole. He's wearing powder blue pants with a dark, navy blue polo, plus big old sunglasses and a white baseball cap. They are both carrying golfing clubs, so you know they are golfers, but like that kind that want a shot at the tag team championship belt, you know? The third guy is behind the two of them and, unless I'm being fooled by some forced perspective, is about a head shorter than them. He's wearing olive green pants and a light blue polo. He also has sunglasses, but with tasteful gold or silver rims. He's probably also carrying a club, it's a little hard to see, but his manager vibes are clear as day.

The road here was paved by the last few years of cultural persecution from the right and a cowardly abandonment by the Democratic establishment, who ignored so many warnings.

Imperative that we loudly defend our trans siblings, and begin to organize together towards building safety and equality.

I can't begin to tell you just how incredibly fucked trans people are here. This will pour gasoline on the Trump administration's attacks on trans people and they will get even harsher and more cruel. The Supreme Court is greenlighting the eradication of trans people from society.
