OK I gave The Tainted Cup a try and unfortunately my record of disliking everything Justin McElroy recommends remains unbroken. Really interesting worldbuilding but the dialogue is just...off? I get that it's a fantasy world but they all sound like they're from *different* fantasy worlds

I'm listening to The Big Dig: Scratch & Win, which is an WGBH deep dive podcast about Massachusetts infrastructure and this season is the MA lottery and folks I cannot recommend it enough. SO fascinating, and Ian Cross clearly is such a nerd about this shit. Love it.
