Proud FDR/Hill Country Blue Dog Democrat. Awaiting the Brandon Presley 2027 campaign
We are caving! Shit! And for what? A vote on Obamacare subsidies in December? That will fail!

Seriously? This is what we’ve held up SNAP benefits and TSA salaries for?

Heads should roll. Schumer should be out.

I sense we are about to cave on the shutdown. DONT CAVE DEMOCRATS. No price is too high. 2026 depends on breaking Trump right now.

Make a stand. Be not afraid.

We are so close to breaking the republicans. But we CANNOT cave. Not now.
Speaker Johnson has decided to keep the House in recess all through next week. This will be the seventh consecutive week of recess for the chamber. It has not been in session since Sept. 19.

I just don’t understand the media response. Surely there are named victims of these attacks. Victims that have families. Victims that have stories that can be told. There’s been none of that during this saga.

Why?
Another illegal US maritime strike—again in the Pacific.

Against a vessel allegedly operated by an unspecified "designated terrorist organization."

Four reported fatalities—dubbed w/o ID or evidence "narco-terrorists."

There's a word for premeditated killings outside of armed conflict.

Great opportunity.
All, as I’m still recovering from a broken wrist with a very full plate, I’m eager to fill this new full-time position as soon as possible. So please pass it on. It is a Jackson-based, on-site position by necessity.
Update: This position is now full-time with a higher salary than earlier advertised. The Mississippi Free Press is hiring a full-time Executive Assistant for CEO Donna Ladd. Immediate hire.

This case will show one way or the other what Millsaps is about. They were leaders on civil rights. Thr rights of a professor to speak truth far outweighs donors or administration concerns.

Millsaps, Mississippi is watching!👀
Former Millsaps College tenured professor James Bowley lost his job after he sent an email to students saying that he needed time to “mourn and process this racist fascist country" following the 2024 election.

Now, he's suing the college.

This is the narrative we need. Portraying DT as a racist and having the media blame DT for the shutdown. They have to be on our side for this one.

ABC has a college football triple header on Saturday, starting with Notre Dame in the morning and ending with Alabama-Georgia in prime time. Disney should inform its Sinclair affiliates that if they won’t air Kimmel, they won’t get any games either.

I’m not a giant Kimmel fan tbh but I will be watching tomorrow night! We should celebrate our wins against the Trump regime anytime we can get them. I’m just glad they didn’t haul JK away in handcuffs.

LONG LIVE FREE SPEECH!
Jimmy Kimmel is a great example of how pushback works and also how completely craven Shari Redstone was canceling Colbert

I don’t know much about her but I’m open to listen. I don’t know how being against trans rights and Palestinian statehood will play with the national party and donors. But she comes from a strong family and her success would be a massive political symbol.

What do we think?
Priscilla Williams-Till, a cousin of 14-year-old lynching victim Emmett Till, is running for U.S. Senate in Mississippi as a Democrat against incumbent Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith.

She says that Hyde-Smith's infamous remark about being "on the front row" at a public hanging helped inspire her to run.

She’s already come out with “Biden, this - transgender that - soft on crime - blah blah blah”. So predictable.

It won’t play in Mississippi. We must beat her by any means necessary. Media will play a HUGE role.

Scott Colom for the ‘sip!
NEW: When Biden nominated Scott Colom to a federal court, U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith used the Senate's "blue slip" tradition to block his nomination.

Now, instead of a federal judgeship, Colom is aiming to unseat her in the Senate.
