Trusting AI companies (known to operate on illegally acquired material without repercussion) with your data is like trusting a cheater that they won’t cheat on YOU.

People who are saying you need to give the AI tools your documentation for context are in for a rude awakening.

Goodbye @firefox.com It's been good 21 years.

I knew this time would come, I just didn't realise it would come so soon.

AI features are already in Firefox, included in many parts of the browser with no real way to turn them off.

Thankfully we have alternatives, who's devs don't eat crayons.

It's hillarious to see even cryptobros admitting that Crypto Gaming is dead.

It was of course never alive in the first place it was just a massive fire pit for VC money. But even for its devout evenagelists to admit its demise is feels kinda vindicating.

To fellow #gamedev people: there are lots of events for making contacts and showing your game that are not in the US:

MIGS / Gamescom / Taipei Game Show / TGS / Develop / etc.

You do *not* need to attend GDC or DICE to survive.

The new @mozilla.org CEO is speedrunning Firefox into irrelevance by turning it into a... AI Browser.

A feature that nobody asked for and nobody wants. Another mindless decision taken by someone unable to distinguish between a strategy and a hype train.

Has the Danish government totally lost their minds?

Why are they so obsessively insisting on turning Europe into a surveillance state?

The fact that one didn't have to be an "expert" to know that the UK's Online Safety Act is a insanely bad idea, shows that either:

The British government is exclusively composed of illiterate morons.

The purpose of the act was never safety, but surveillance.

The fact that organisations like Visa or Mastercard can impact the shape of our culture and decide what kind of media we consume is wild. It's as if your electricity provider didn't allow you to use power for things they don't like.

This needs to be regulated into oblivion.
The censorship of 80+ games on Steam this week was apparently the work of Australian antiporn group Collective Shout, which partnered with US evangelicals to pressure Visa and Mastercard.

They claimed, without evidence, that the games involved child abuse.

Great work by @acvalens.net for VICE.

COMMENTARY: It’s time European countries — as well as companies — started keeping a much closer eye on potential saboteurs in our midst.
We need to keep a closer eye on saboteurs in our midst
We’ve seen an uptick in geopolitically motivated harm within our borders, and it’s in all our interest to help stop it.

Europe is standing at a crossroads. Either we will choose untity and democracy or submit to Fascism coming out of the US and Russia and fall in internal squabbles like the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth did.
COMMENTARY: At a time of intensifying great power competition, the EU has to choose between becoming a henchman of the US or breaking free to steer its own course.

And it must decide quickly.

Europe is at war.

It has been since 2014. European leaders have been too shortsighted to act, if not actively collaborating with the aggressor.

We need to accept that fact and act accordingly. If not, two fates await Europe: subjugation by feudal tech lords from US and by gangsters from Russia.
