It isn't like fans aren't going to notice that a walking, talking white flag is taking the mound and they are going to stay home instead of watch that. Plus, the bullpen is going to get run into the ground with these batting practice pitchers around.
No one is served with guys like Quantrill/Fedde/whichever terrible starter hits the waiver wire next. Call up JR Ritchie, see where he is at against big league hitters, give him things to work on in the offseason, and then carry him on the Opening Day roster.

I think everyone is in agreement that the Braves have underachieved AND have had a lot of injuries the last two seasons. Just isn't that controversial a thing.
I guess the team will try to sell that pitching injuries is the reason why they underachieved this year despite it clearly being the position players. And it's just not this year when it comes to underachieving.

Sadly the trade deadline this year is not an ideal place for that.
Any ideas on what shortstop upgrades besides bichette might be available?

The difference to me is that Bichette has at least put together decent defensive seasons before while Allen has always swung a toothpick. And yes, I do think the bat would generally make up for although I would still get mad when he did something dumb.
I haven't watched Bichette play defense (I realize Allen is a black hole at the plate) but does his bat make up for his negative defensive value?

He has always been a guy that pops up more than he should. The quality of contact in general is down as it doesn't seem like he can impact the ball. I do wonder if all of the injuries are starting to catch up with him or if a lighter bat would help.
Any thoughts on Ozzie's struggles? I think I heard he's been popping up at a much higher rate this season.

Maybe! College arm with good stuff. Honestly better than some of the other options the Braves keep rolling with night after night (cough Montero cough).

I have known for a while that the Braves REALLY love the metrics of Fuentes fastball and I suspect that that is the driving force here. Gives the rotation some extra rest and this is an arm that they do like a lot. Numbers in a small sample don't mean all that much.
Why is Didier Fuentes being called up? He just turned 20 this week and the numbers weren’t great.
