oh it's cheap labor you want?
Well, we got ways for that too!

Like, see, we can take away rental assistance and then BOOM instant unhoused crisis - we just put em all in prison and BOOM free labor force!

There you go!

The Trump administration is working on a plan for time limits on rental aid
A housing agency rule would also allow work requirements. Supporters say a time limit would help spread limited funds to more people, but critics warn it would leave some homeless.

I spent time in Seminole, Texas, after a deadly measles outbreak tore through. I came back with a story about anti-vaccine activists who exploited the crisis, outmatched doctors and public health officials working to contain it — and a community left to bear the cost. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

The right question to ask in this situation is always: oh, so how many people did you want to kill?
The weirdest thing about the school-reopening discourse is how no one wants to specify when, precisely, schools should have reopened.

This article treats it as a scandal that schools were still closed in September 2020 but we were heading into a bigger wave than March!

Do you know the last shot of the 1972 film Cabaret? The camera pans across the laughing 1931 night club audience, & through a mirror effect that distorts all the patrons' faces, we glimpse a few swastikas. Then it cuts to black. Ominous.

And that's us, now.

🚨WOW. It turns out that a "Tren de Aragua gathering" the Trump admin said it broke up in March ... was just a BIRTHDAY PARTY.

None of the people arrested at the party seem to have any criminal record — and none have been charged criminally in the months since it happened.

Read the story below.

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

ATTN FEDERAL WORKERS: It has come to my attention that several agencies are now offering WiFi for you to use with your PERSONAL devices. If I were you, I would NOT use that WiFi. I suspect it's a way for DOGE to monitor your personal communications.

It's painful to watch NPR CEO Katherine Maher apologize for & abnegate her 2020 tweets that Trump is a racist. He is a racist, but the larger issue is that the value of outlets like NPR depends on 1st amendment protections; if she won't defend her own free speech, both NPR's & ours are at risk.

DOGE plans to fire 430 workers at the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service — which helps low-income and small business filers.

Meanwhile, its wider agency layoffs will make it even easier for the rich to get away with skirting what they owe.

See what DOGE is really about?

Which gives them economic reasons to post here first.
