winters really just hit me hard today. i’m wandering about town through backpaths that run along the train tracks. i was writing a really funny novel (at least i think it is) which has turned a bit sour and slowly becoming a way to vent my frustrations about my life. just a crap few days in general.

as ugly and as angry as the original Jubilee on audio but with its themes updated to mirror the scarily similar state of modern UK politics to those of the English Empire in the story

reading Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and i cant help but feel that while it’s trying to showcase a dying culture and celebrate African history, it just ends up being a book that desperately wants the adoration of the western world which imo makes the whole thing a bit dishonest.

this book is giving me immeasurable relief from some dull narrative non-fiction im slogging through at the moment. star trek, glass people, iris wildthyme and twenty questions.

i still have no idea what im supposed to be reading for my course which starts in 2 WEEKS!!! i thought it had to do david copperfield but nah not until after Christmas apparently so thats just a massive waste of time. i’m imagining the MA creative writing office is like this atm
