as ugly and as angry as the original Jubilee on audio but with its themes updated to mirror the scarily similar state of modern UK politics to those of the English Empire in the story

i’m surprised this was allowed to go out under the doctor who brand in 2025

this book is giving me immeasurable relief from some dull narrative non-fiction im slogging through at the moment. star trek, glass people, iris wildthyme and twenty questions.

cant ask for more than that

i have this awful habit of avoiding books that are highly acclaimed. so ‘the booker of all bookers’ made me roll my eyes thinking ‘this is gonna be pretentious rubbish’ boy was i wrong! i absolutely love the ‘never let the truth get in the way of a good story’ attitude that magical realism adopts.

After the superb Interstellar Song Contest this last season, I picked up Juno Dawson’s thirteenth doctor novel.

Currently blitzing through @lanceparkin.bsky.social FANTASTIC novel Trading Futures, not heard anything whatsoever about this one before picking it up in my EDA-athon but this is a definite highlight. Rarely do i blitz through a book as fast as i did this one😁

Started James Robinson’s run on Starman today in this ludicrously heavy compendium and WOW. The art by Tony Harris is also just incredible.

love the way it handles nostalgia and the idea appreciating yesterday more than tomorrow. Brilliant stuff!
