AG Pam Bondi has announced that Trump's judicial nominees will not be cooperating with the judicial-nominee ratings process the ABA has been conducting since the Eisenhower administration. I wrote an explainer about this non-partisan process in 2018.

The SEVIS stuff, where ICE went after thousands of foreign students, tied up likely hundreds of lawyers nationwide and dozens of judges, and likely generated thousands of hours of wasted effort, all for the backlash to lead ICE to rescind their actions in the first place.

Just an ENORMOUS waste.

I’m on a bunch of employment law e-mail lists, and I’ve gotten quite a few “what to go if ICE shows up” emails and all of them have told me to do exactly what this judge just got arrested for.
This is crazy. ICE didn’t have event have a warrant to arrest the guy! The judge asked for it and they said “we have an administrative warrant” (not a real warrant).

She told them to kick rock and now the FBI is charging her with obstruction the arrest ‼️

—Now indefinite ICE detention in Louisiana;
—"Crime": not declaring some frog-embryo samples for research.
