Good luck everyone at Thoughtbubble today - have an amazing con.

Comic artist Mike Perkins and others pay tribute to a much appreciated comic book inker, Andrew (Drew) Hennessy, who has died, aged 56.

Watched THE RUNNING MAN today - enjoyed it; it tries hard to please the fans of the book and the fans of the Arnie movie (two very different things) so tried to strike a medium between the bleak grit of the book and the fun spectacle of the movie, not 100% successfully for me....

One of the comics I always dreamed of that will never happen was an adaptation of John Carpenter's THE THING by Bernie Wrightson in the style of Goodwin & Simonson's ALIEN THE ILLUSTRATED STORY.

I mean, just look at that.

Odious and shameful
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

Walking past the local care home. My attention caught by loud rock music blasting from an open window (ground floor), see a resident, in his pyjamas, strutting around the room like Mick Jagger wearing a stormtrooper helmet.
Hope this is me in 30 years.

No other word has done more damage to the craft of writing in recent years than “content”. Even if you’re using the word “content” ironically, or as a cute little joke, don’t. When someone calls writing “content” they’re pissing on someone’s hard work & passion. “Content” is Technosatan’s henchword.

So I had a dream about a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie, where there was a WOTW-style alien invasion of Earth, and the JL were flying to a beachhead in the Javelin, but evidently the big guns had already been taken out cos Batman was leading a B-squad - Vibe, Gypsy, Vixen, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle etc...

Currently reading: Marvel Monster Masterworks - whacky stuff, great art from Kirby & Ditko (always preferred Ditko's mystery/monster stuff to his superheroes)

Disappointed it doesn't include "The Sacrifice" though...
