What America lost
104. Gallup, 1942 (asked of car/truck owners): "If the government passes regulations which make it impossible for you to use your car, would this make any great difference to you?"

maybe I'm weird but i wouldn't be proud of an ideology that consigned my son to death so billionaires could get tax cuts
In @nytopinion.bsky.social “My son’s life depends on government assistance,” writes Rachel Roth Aldhizer. “Recent cuts to Medicaid at both the federal and state levels mean millions of families like mine could soon be at a loss for how to care for our disabled loved ones.”
Opinion | I’m a Proud Conservative. My Disabled Son Needs Medicaid to Live.
The uncertainty around the future of Medicaid is paralyzing for families like mine.

Generative AI by definition is conformity. It is an averaging of anything you ask of it - quite literally guessing what the most likely version of a thing might be. It is, by definition, mainstream, as is everything it creates old and deeply ideological, as every model trains on similar data.
AI filmmaking is peeing. It’s pooping. It’s throwing up. It’s a new kind of liquid coming out. It’s hated by the establishment. It’s what goes in the toilet. It’s wet. It’s what’s in the bathroom.

The DOGE mindset, perfectly encapsulated in one tweet. Destroy incredible public assets for a short term sugar high that would not come remotely close to ending the national debt

this is not true either legally or in a colloquial sense, but an NYT reporter says it like he's telling you the weather.
Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

So Curtis Yarvin is a fool, so it will not surprise you that 'executive' is not, in fact, a 'literal synonym' of 'monarchy.'

Executive is just "that which carries out" from Latin exsequor, 'to follow to completion.' There is no etymological reason the executive needs to be a single person.
Always funny to me that Yarvin is held up as the great intellect of the New Right and then when he argues for stuff it's this - here's some etymology for a synonym of a word you're using, so we gotta have a tyrant -- checkmate libs. Behold the philosopher.

my reaction to this is not "oh Trump's losing it" it's "the entire point of fascism is that the leader declares reality and everyone else has to follow it".
Absolutely, furiously certain that the floating letters pasted in around the knuckles were physically there
Well that sure clears up the question of whether he was just sharing the meme from the neo-Nazis that purported to translate the tattoos or whether he's so senile he confused the added translation in the meme for part of the tattoos!
