Invisible, and typically some degree of mischievous, there are three types of kobold: the household spirits, the mine spirits, and shipboard spirits.
Having previously covered klabautermann, those shipboard spirits, in this bestiary, the remaining types of kobold were only a matter of time.

Household spirits are one of the three general types of kobold.
Invisible at most times, a kobold can take on the form of an animal, flame, candle, or human, in addition to their true form.
Took care of household chores and busywork in exchange for food offerings and proper respect. If wronged a kobold would often retaliate with ill fortune and hazardous mischief.
Famous kobolds include: King Goldemar of Castle Hardenstein, the Bishop of Hildesheim's Hödekin, and Hinzelmann (also known as Luring) of Hudemühlen Castle.
Notably, the true form of Hinzelmann was stated to be the corpse of a young boy with two swords thrust through his heart crosswise.

Mine spirits are one of the three general types of kobold.
They appear like either small old men, or small black figurines.
Range from dangerously territorial to neutral. Some regions say they can lead miners to good veins if treated with enough respect.
The element and metal, cobalt, is named after them. While initially looking like other ore, its brittle and poisonous nature led it to be called cobalt. The kobolds were blamed for transforming or placing this fairy ore.

It’s not really taken off yet (sadly) but an Italian version of “mansplaining” is minchiarimento. It essentially means “cocksplaining” (though I’d be tempted to get creative and translate it as either “dickscribing” or “dicklarification”)
