Disabled nonbinary person in WA has become homeless while escaping a DV situation. Help Cal out if you can! The process of applying for disability benefits is excruciatingly long and the assistance available in the mean time is not nearly enough to survive on.

ChatGPT, can you help me write a post for Bluesky that basically says: “You will never convince me that generative AI is an accessibility tool. It’s ok to not be great at writing. Whatever you come up with is going to be way better than what ChatGPT vomited out. Some days the words don’t word, idk.”

Got a free Medium subscription last year and mistakenly thought the card I gave them had expired before the renewal date and that I therefore didn’t have to cancel. So… who should I follow on Medium?

Reeling at @geekgirlcon.bsky.social deciding to drop their mask requirements for 2025. There’s no such thing as “supporting those who choose to mask”. You support disabled/immunocompromised people by wearing one yourself, not by… what, abstaining from harassing them? You think that’s inclusive? 🍪

Donating to @maskblocla.bsky.social is an excellent way to help folks in LA right now. They have been all over the place going to evacuation shelters handing out N95 respirators the past few days and are even planning to reimburse people for donating their own masks. They could rly use our support!

Was anyone else deeply confused as a child about the line in The Night Before Christmas where the narrator “tore open the shutters and threw up the sash?” I didn’t understand why he opened up the window to barf, nor why he had eaten a sash(?), but the urgency made sense.

Time for Transanta shopping! It’s my new favorite holiday tradition, also a great way to spend Amazon gift cards if you’re fortunate enough not to need ‘em. 🧑‍🎄🏳️‍⚧️

Handy info to have before buying a print! Also if the artist offers to print in a different size for you, take them up on it. Don’t be like me and turn it into a whole art retrofitting project that takes six months. (It did give me an excuse to use the hammer loop on my coveralls… but never again.)
Previous custom framer here. Here are some standard US framing sizes in inches (popular sizes marked *):
4x6
5x7*
8x10*
9x12
10x13
11x14*
11x17*
12x16
16x20
18x24

I've had more success selling prints in these sizes at markets/cons, mentioning "you can put it in any store bought frame"
I have a SUBSTANTIAL amount of beef with SEVERAL of you here, who have made absolutely stunning prints, at ass backwards sizes.

“Mild” ME/CFS is so weird. Do a multiday work trip, feel fine, finish out the week from home. Maybe I’m not disabled after all! Crochet and make a quiche on Saturday? Now we’ve overdone it! Too fatigued to speak Sunday night. Sleep will help me recover though! Nope, sore feet restless legs insomnia.

Does anyone want or know someone who wants some boxes of child-sized KN95 respirators?

We have ten boxes of 2,600 each and can’t seem to find anyone local who is interested.

Can confirm another cat does not cancel out the first cat’s wild nonsense. We have a playful kitten who growls and screams in a corner when his older buddy gets too hyped and basically tries to hunt him at 6am. What I want to know is: are cat zoomies typically worse in the summer?

Every time I emerge from a crash (or in this case a flare-up of *some new mystery thing*), I can hear my brain ready to go full “I get knocked down, but I get up again!” It doesn’t want to hear that just because we have energy and aren’t in pain doesn’t mean we need to clean/bake/fix all the things

I just think the frequency with which people Google their symptoms says a lot about the state of our medical care in the US. Also owww 😓
