Our nation's federal employees are more than just numbers on a spreadsheet.

They make sure we have clean water.

They protect us from financial fraud.

They provide healthcare to our communities.

They make our government actually work for people.

Do not forget this.

The EPA move follows news the administration wants to scrap the satellites that measure carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

If you can't measure it and don't know where it's coming from, it becomes very difficult to reduce or eliminate it (or hold anybody accountable for damages).

The heart and brain of EPA - its research office - has been dismantled. Policy now outranks evidence. Hundreds of scientists silenced while industry lobbyists cheer.

And the #EPA139 who spoke out still on admin leave.

In a democracy, government employees can voice respectful dissent to their leadership. But today, EPA leadership retaliated against its own employees for expressing disagreement w/ the admin’s actions & policy directions. Punishing gov't employees for this expression is an alarming development. 🧵

Since Cassidy is saying this publicly, public health advocates can ramp up the pressure. I will call my PA senators & tell them they should support Cassidy in saying the panel must be fully staffed by people with direct relevant expertise in vaccines, epidemiology and immunology “as required by law”
“Cassidy’s comments — including that the panel’s upcoming meeting be canceled until it is “fully staffed with more robust and balanced representation” — represent the harshest condemnation of Kennedy’s actions by the senator, who ultimately cast the key vote that secured Kennedy’s confirmation.”

Under the proposed White House budget, the NASA Space Grant program would be eliminated.

I was a NASA Space Grant recipient during my Masters—it funded my research on water on Mars.

I then went on to work in science & mission ops on multiple NASA Mars missions immediately after graduation. (1/2)
