You know what's fun? Being assessed with the 2nd most severe grade of tongue tie and needing to pay ~2700 dollars for the training lessons and procedure to fix it out of pocket because the EMT doctor you saw about the issue refused to diagnose you so now my provincial insurance won't pay to fix it 🤬

Have to say that it tickles me pink that I got to sharpen one of my partner's pocket knives *and* get my nails all fancy before I see her tonight. The juxtaposition amuses me. ☺️

I have some pretty complicated feelings about how much it nourishes my soul to finally be in romantic relationships where I'm not constantly struggling against unwelcome masculine gender role expectations thanks to transition. (1)

One of my partners has been getting me into Magic: The Gathering, and apparently I haven't lost my touch for figuring out how to exploit game mechanics because the first deck I designed for the Commander format of MTG is much, MUCH scarier than I'd expected it to be 😅🤣

Today is a day of infamy in Canadian history. Take a moment to reflect on where we've been, where we are, and where we want to be.

One of the really sad things about capitalism is the way people assume that the perverse incentives and compulsions it imposes on us are reflective of our fundamental human nature rater than just reflecting our compelled participation in this grotesque social system.
I like to think human nature is to be giving and kind and to live in community with each other and the earth. But capitalism gets in our way. Always has. 🫠

I think the best possible reason to celebrate Kissinger's death - to be as loud and crude and discourteous as possible about it, to never stop saying what he did, to stink bomb the funerals and piss on the graves - is to let todays war criminals know that we will do it to them too.
I guess.... Kissinger is a reminder to all of us just how little the judgement of history actually means, and how the way the rich, the powerful and the safe feted him for years shows who they truly are and what they truly believe more than anything they profess in office

Honored to write the Rolling Stone obituary for the worst American of the post-World War II era. Rot in piss

Tried my hand at making pasta alla Tranese recently. It's a really fun baked pasta that uses straciatella cheese (that's what is inside burrata) and uses raw macerated cherry tomatoes on top to give a burst of fresh tomato flavour. It was yummy, but I'm going to make a few tweaks for next time.

One of the most important things to understand about right-wing conspirational nonsense is that people mostly don't buy into it and repeat it out of ignorance, or think its actually true. They buy into it and repeat it because it gets them things they want. (1/2)
Thread.

Something that I wish folks understood about The Fight Against Misinformation And Disinformation is that many of people spreading it aren’t doing it because they’re misguided souls who don’t know better, and not even because they believe it, but because it’s fun to make people mad. 1/

I had covid again recently and, once again, have been dealing with a weird niggling cough that I've been struggling to get rid of for weeks. The weird part is that now, thanks to voice training, I can sort of manage it by jamming my tongue and larynx as far up and forwards as possible.

I have to say, it's pretty damn problematic that me being a big softie used to get me treated like I had three heads and probably had ulterior motives before, and now that I'm perceived as a woman, it gets me treated like I'm completely normal and no one gives it a second thought.

"Stop killing people" pretty much sums up my politics these days, whether we're talking genocide, covid, the environmental/healthcare/housing crisis, food insecurity, police brutality, lack of disability rights, attacks on LGBTQ+ folx, no access to reproductive medical care, etc etc etc. Just stop.

honestly the best thing about having breasts is that anything you do topless becomes instantly Bohemian. Reading a book in bed? Everyday. Reading a book with your tits out? Queen of leisure, elegantly sprawled, probably being painted by some weird French guy

Also, please remind me not to drag my feet on scanning and posting receipts for my second gig again in the future. Having to post/match ~550+ receipts in 3-4 days while suffering with covid was not exactly what I would describe as a good time! 😭

Still on the mend from Covid, but I am thankful for all the time I've spend on working on some speech impediment issues over the last few months because I think it's helped me avoid a lot of the sore throat issues I had the previous times I've had covid. Thank the Divine for small mercies.
