We are shocked and appalled to learn of this child’s death.

This demonstrates that residential streets are not suitable for through traffic, & @rochdalecouncil.bsky.social has a responsibility to ensure #MilkstoneAndDeeplish gets the measures it deserves to reduce this, & now.

Imagine a tunnel that only allowed 40 cars per hour
For cyclists, the new Silvertown Tunnel Cycle Shuttle service is a free, convenient way to travel between Royal Docks and North Greenwich that operates every 12 minutes, seven days a week from 06:30 to 21:30.

A challenge for @andyburnham.bsky.social.

I need to get to Stepping Hill Hospital from Marple this morning. My options are:

- get the bus and walk 30 mins each way
- get a bus which only runs every 2 hrs and if delayed means I miss my appointment
- get two buses via Stockport - takes over an hour

My colleague: you seem very excited about your bee network tote bag
Me: I am
Colleague: Why
Me: … Idk I just love the bee network man

Oh we are so back, etc.

Lovely week to get back into cycling to work. Although I’ve been taking a detour up the helter-skelter and through Stockport station because the A6 during evening rush hour = 🤮

Looking forward to paying an extra 4.6% to not be able to visit my grandma in her care home on Sundays because Northern have cancelled all services on the Southport line

This one's so frustrating. Not because of the closure, but because the council dismissed any proposals to properly improve this space for walking and cycling.

Compare the @walkridestocky.bsky.social proposals, developed with a professional highways engineer, with the council's chosen design.

Love this book (and Adrienne Buller and her amazing podcast) so much. Saved this quote in my phone notes!
«Painted with the brush of objective science and rationality and enveloped in the mythology that there is no alternative, mainstream economics continues, with great effect, to cleanse our ecological crisis off its profoundly political origins and resolutions.»

We took the train to Stuttgart. A very pleasant and relaxing journey. Hoping for the same on the way back!

Northern continually finding new ways to make their service even worse.

Being able to buy advance tickets up to 5 minutes before travel gave me the flexibility to turn up and travel between Stockport - Piccadilly (when trains aren’t cancelled) and was probably the only decent aspect of the service

I can't think of another transport mode in this country where 5 deaths and 77 serious injuries a day wouldn't be setting off major investigations.

The reimagining of Stretford’s high street marks a change in how we shape our urban spaces: fewer lanes for cars and more space for people to walk, cycle or just hang out.

Entering my last couple of weeks cycling into work, before it gets too dark/dangerous. The cycling safari with @walkridegm.org.uk around Salford on Saturday left me dreaming of what could be possible in Stockport, were there the political will…
