It was not unexpected. Every article on bird flu said this would lead to a shortage of poultry products. Anyone with basic pattern recognition could see that bird flu+trump policies that benefit big business+trump/rfk policies that deny science would lead to this. This is infuriating.

Holle says there is a 6-7 acre abandoned lot next to where Taylor was killed. He said the land was previously low-income housing. He tells the Council they should buy or lease that land to build a housing unit.

Never assume the guy that is willing to fight to the death won’t kill you. They wouldn’t propose a fight to the death if murder wasn’t already on the table.
Alexander Hamilton told his son Phillip to not bang his pew pew during the duel bc the other guy wouldn’t actually use his pew pew and he was 💀. Democrats really embodies Alexander Hamilton wishing the other guy had integrity and ethics and look.

The American Medical Association did a study showing encampment sweeps that forcibly relocate people lead to big increases in: overdose deaths, hospitalizations, life-threatening infections, and more. And yesterday, a man was run over with a bulldozer in an Atlanta sweep.
Yesterday, across from Ebenezer Baptist Church—just days before MLK Day, when crowds will gather to honor justice and equality—a homeless man was killed during an encampment sweep by an Atlanta city vehicle.

These sweeps are cruel, brutal, and utterly counterproductive in addressing homelessness.

You absolutely cannot do your job drunk. I’ve worked in dive bars where we sent bartenders home for being drunk on the job, and the job was getting people drunk!
COLLINS: How's the bad behavior of a senator a defense of someone who wants to run the Pentagon?

MULLIN: It's not. What I was trying to get to is if you're capable of doing your job and you're able to still drink on the job or late in the evening, don't tell me that Pete can't

In the weeks leading up to it when people were posting on TikTok and twitter that they planned to be violent. They constantly referenced 1776 meaning they saw this as war. War=violence. They were telling on themselves and everyone ignored them.

What was the point when you realized it wasn’t just a few rowdy people but a major riot/insurrection.

One of Jimmy Carter's biggest, but probably least known accomplishments is getting us very close to eradicating Guinea worm, a horrible disease that almost no one else cared about.
Jimmy Carter took on the awful Guinea worm when no one else would — and he triumphed
Carter targeted diseases primarily affecting the poor in remote areas — notably "Guinea worm disease." Because of his commitment, case numbers plummeted from 3.6 million a year to just 13 in 2022.
