if you think it’s weird to follow a sewer utility’s content on this network, wait til you find out how long sewer utilities have been following your content on theirs.
I’m sure you never thought you should follow a public waste management utility on social media, but you really should follow NEORSD

I identify with every bit of this.
Everyone’s life moves at a different pace and comparing yourself to others is meaningless and even harmful but I still can’t help but feel like I’ve fallen behind every time I hear that another woman my age has already succeeded in befriending and commanding her own murder of crows.

As a native Ohioan, 😂
Moved to Ohio in June, and some of the pronunciations of cities is just...hard.

Delhi = Dell high
Lebanon = Leb eh nen
Bellefontiane = bell foun ten
Hebron = Hee brun
Scioto = Sigh OH tuh

And the number of names from other places: Russia, Delhi, Vienna, Versailles, Lima, Oxford...

Yep. And good morning to all of us greeting the new year at this early hour because our pets were freaking out.
I would like to apologize to dogs and cats on behalf of humans right now

For the new installment of Working Better, I wrote about how we support our colleagues in higher education navigating extreme hardship--both in terms of our policies and also how we notice and show up for one another. www.chronicle.com/article/sick...

I grew up just two counties south of the NEORSD and my Ohio heart loves the work they do to care for a rust belt watershed that needs the love. And they write poetry. 😍
rise, sun! we meet you.
a long-enduring night crew
has worked the darkened hours
serving
treating
nightwatch keeping.
and now this broken dawn,
a sign the morning has begun,
day crew starts its journey
toward a region free of worry
for our lake,
your water,
flows thru able hands.
