Queer. Disabled. Jewish. I believe in the liberation of all people and I’m scared.
Once on Usenet, currently in Boston.
I'm not sure how to fit this into @dreamweasel.bsky.social 's thread about the usefulness of Newsom's trolling. I mean, it's obvious to me how it could matter to change hearts and minds on the ground. What if that agent had hesitated and wondered, "are we the baddies?"
While masked agents were violently attacking a delivery worker this morning, bystanders repeatedly asked to see their badge numbers but they refused.

Bystander: You guys are ruining this country, you know that, right?

Agent: Liberals already ruined it.

Oh, right! Thank you for reminding me about the tariffs. The declaration is not only about a tyrant overruling judges and governors, and obstructing the naturalization of foreigners, but also:

For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world.
For imposing taxes on us without our consent.
throwing a sandwich is a gateway to more nefarious food-based acts like tossing tea into a harbor

One of the few good things about living in such isolation is that I have largely avoided the smell of Febreze. That stuff is FOUL.

A question for SFF fandom: Could we have stopped Gamergate if we knew ahead of time what its long-term effects would be? It gathered a lot of strength while people didn’t think it was very important.
quick reminder: tomorrow is the factory reset and we start back in 2009. don't mess it up this time, folks

All the federal investigators are working for ICE now. They can’t find Jeffrey Epstein
axios.com Axios @axios.com · Jul 7
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: President Trump's Justice Department and FBI have concluded they have no evidence that Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed powerful figures, kept a "client list” or was murdered, according to a memo detailing the findings obtained by Axios.
Exclusive: DOJ, FBI conclude Jeffrey Epstein had no "client list," committed suicide
The findings represent the first time Trump's administration has officially contradicted conspiracy theories about Epstein's activities and his death.

Want a way to have a small voice? Head to Etsy, find whatever vile and repugnant alligator Alcatraz merch you can and report it. Choose the item, scroll all the way to the bottom, and report it. Tell ETSY that you will not accept its presence. Absolutely stomach turning.

A group of tow truck drivers in LA have reportedly also been stalking ICE vehicles and towing them once the agents get out of the vehicles and leave it unattended. /

Time, that is intolerant
Of the brave and innocent
Worships language, and forgives
All of those who by it live.
Pardons cowardice, deceit
Lays its honors at their feet.
Perhaps a tweak of the algorithm is in order.

I think that's a little unfair.

Leni Riefenstahl had major skills (among the greatest of filmmakers), and put them to use in the service of evil.

I haven't seen any evidence that Kristi Noem has any significant abilities of any kind.

It doesn't involve characters who are a romantic couple, but my villain origin story is the casting notice I saw for a local production of "Twelfth Night" that went "Viola, 20s-30s; Sebastian, 20s-40s"

Which, if you've read or seen the play even once… 🤦‍♀️

Is “We’re here for each other! We’re queer for each other! “ not right for such a serious occasion?

This is terrifying. Criminal charges NOW, against Noem, ICE, and the individuals who attacked Senator Padilla.
Kristi Noem: "We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city."

Sen. Alex Padilla is then forcibly removed!

Abolishing ICE is a moderate position
Bravo, Glendale. Bravo.

More, please.

And it's time for Democrats to loudly say, "Abolish ICE." Someone please stand up and have a spine.

I’m generally uncomfortable with gossip that assumes a woman must have gotten her new job by sleeping with her new boss. It’s icky.

But for Mike Pence’s former press secretary? OMG, it’s hilarious.

Remember when there were search engines that would actually give you what you wanted, and tell you if nothing matched? When you could put "-gelatin" in your search terms and not get pages with the word 'gelatin' in them?

Those were the days, man. Gone forever now.

First mayoral forum on the books

Someone threw in the question "What ward do you live in?"

Mayor Wu: Ward 18

Domingos DaRosa: 18

Josh Kraft: I’m embarrassed to say I don’t know

Alex Alex also didn't know

Wu leaned over to Kraft and held up 3 fingers, signifying Ward 3
