So my first Anime NJ++ is in the can and all in all I had a very positive experience. It's been a long while since I've spent any significant time at a smaller convention, but this one felt extremely comfy to me — like a throwback to cons from 15 years ago! I hope it does well enough to keep going.
Anime NJ++ is off to an auspicious start for me. This was Keita Amemiya's autograph: an entirely freehand ink pen drawing of Zeiram! It was incredibly impressive watching him just whip this up inside of two minutes.

Every time I come across something in my research that Becky intersected with it is a delight. One of the finest folks to have ever made their way through video games.

I have literally a hundred games that I've never even opened dating back to the PS2 era and a Steam backlog hundreds deep. I'll probably be dead before I finish that.

I finally finished watching all 50 episodes of Kochikame that Remow offer on the It's Anime YouTube channel (which, by their admission in the replies, is all they had the rights to, despite apparently saying at a con panel that they had up to Ep 100).
Simply put, Kochikame TV is just hilarious.

PSA: the virus I had this week , with a low grade fever and throat blisters so bad you can’t even drink water, appears to be going around. Runs its course in a week, but it is HELL. If you get it, ask your doc for Prednisone (incl a cough syrup), and stock up on Advil, Tylenol and meduca honey.
