This is an argument I’ve had to make a lot so please read if interested in how I view “socialist” states as a council communist.
I would argue that the “socialist” states of the past were just bourgeois revolutionaries masquerading as socialists in fact the Soviet Union famously destroyed worker controlled industry and factory committees which formed in the early days of the Bolshevik revolution.
