Using epoxy to glue back together a Shimano toe clip; this goes on Shimano's triangular-shaped semi-platform road pedals from the 80's. I'll trim the excess glue after. Wilton bench vise is a $5 #estatesales find.

While waiting for the wind warning to expire I'm working in the bike cave this morning installing some Tektro V brakes on a Trek mtb, some Bach playing in the background.

Now that Trump has begun cutting Europe (especially Ukraine) off from intelligence sharing, Europe can dedicate far more energy to figuring out how Russia got Trump to capitulate.

Since all his OTHER bribery is in plain sight, I suspect any RU bribery is lurking just below the surface.

Elon Musk and Donald Trump are actively undermining the Social Security Administration by laying off 7,000 workers, closing offices, and pushing out experienced staff.

Experts WARN that this could cause a “system collapse” within 30-90 days.

Salt caves 2000 feet underground in New Mexico hold the radioactive nuclear waste from US defense projects. It's the world's only deep geologic repository.

And DOGE says it has terminated the very large office in Carlsbad that oversees it. Details 👇

The Department of Energy office in Carlsbad, New Mexico, is specifically set up to handle emergency situations at a nuclear storage facility. DOGE says it terminated the lease.

Another thrift shop find:
Konica Autoreflex T with 57mm and 135mm lenses. It was jammed when I got it and it took a fair amount of fiddling and De-Oxit to restore normal advance and release.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:
