This little beauty is a juvenile black crowned night heron. When I see them, I wonder how a creature can be so perfect. How can they fit in this world so beautifully? As I photograph it, I whisper to them that I hope they live a long life and Godspeed. #photography #wildlife #birds #EastCoastKin
I find myself nearly in tears when I watch them face their tentative existence. I wonder how we can possibly coexist with them allowing them to have their place to live, much less thrive. What kind of a life with this young juvenile avian have?

An oil still life experimenting with brighter colour. All of these objects came from charity shops along the street near where I live, including the tie-dye cloth. The jug seems to be from the '20s (a survivor). The painting is still in the studio hanging on the wall.
