Actually, Asasumasu created the entire term to include any deviation from the neuronorm. And, yeah, that includes schizophrenia or other forms of psychosis. In fact, I've worked with lots of autistic folks that experience brief psychosis under high overwhelm and near burnout.
And also within neurodivergence, which originated to describe the autism spectrum but expanded, there's a hierarchy. The rest of them don't wanna be us & will slur us & slam us. They said I'm NEURODIVERGENT, what you thought I'm insane like you?
