For non-journalists, it’s helpful to see what Standards and Practices guidelines look like. Here, for example, are the AP’s. www.ap.org/wp-content/u...

Lots and lots of positions promising temp-to-perm spots, with truly insulting “temp” rates. It’s not just that they’re cheap: with some, there’s literally nothing left other than the executive bonuses.

It would be remarkably easy, especially with the room up top for white and UV LEDs. I considered doing that for a display demonstrating fluorescence in carnivorous plants: now THAT would have been a wrangle.

I’ve watched this before with magazines and weekly newspapers: it should be noted that none of those publications so afflicted are still around.

For the last year, I’ve used rushes in job postings for tech writers to predict layoffs in AI companies, because they always need someone to log what things actually do before the company gets sold for parts. It’s getting UGLY out there.

Every couple million over 100 shouldn’t have a 2% tax, just an additional artist you pay 100k/year. A billionaire should be paying the way for 900 artists and craftsmen. Elon can keep his half a trillion for the low, low price of a Wyoming of artists.

We KNOW this. We KNOW that social media, Google, our phones, everything, track our searches and interactions to feed us exactly what we want. It could be very easy to believe the universe is sending you signs or your will is manifesting confirmation if you don't keep that front of mind.

I have to wonder how much of this increase in magical thinking can be traced to the fact that so many of us spend our lives online, where our view of the world is filtered through a carefully curated algorithm that creates a constant positive feedback loop that reaffirms what we want to see.
