Every single Democratic lawmaker should be calling for Hegseth's immediate resignation right now. Not just some. Not just a few dozen. Every single one, starting at the top with Mr. Schumer and Mr. Jeffries. And the fact that it hasn't happened yet is nearly as shocking as Hegseth's conduct.

the favorite framing of fox news is "this thing raises new questions, questions we must speculate on for hours on end, these questions all reflect poorly on the target"

they do it cause it is effective and it works

steal. their. playbook.

call me old fashioned but I think it’s a little irresponsible for someone this influential to make things up and then post them like he’s reporting the news
Young men don't open bank accounts. They are too expensive. They download coin base or Robinhood app and buy crypto. That's their savings

If one party pushes that number higher. They vote for em. Gensler/Biden caused those savings to go down. The demo with the biggest change was young men
This is legit the dumbest thing I've ever seen him say

I think it’s important to realize the Atlantic editor is ex idf and has a history of promoting the US imperial line not because it’s a “conspiracy” but because it’s good for people to know Pete H doesn’t have his number on signal by accident, but only added him to that particular chat by accident.

If the White House is insisting that there was no classified or secret information in the Signal chat, does that mean Jeffrey Goldberg can publish it all?

Yes, Pete Hegseth and Michael Waltz violated all sorts of national security protocols by sharing military secrets with a journalist. But at least they were White when they did this.

It’s very discouraging to watch our country slowly re-learn the lessons that led to the end of segregation, among them that people who think they’re racially superior are nearly universally incompetent fools unable to face up to their own deficiencies and putting them in charge is suicide

The fact that Democrats are still voting to confirm Trump nominees, while emailing me to ask for $5 in response to The Atlantic story, is more evidence that this party must be purged and rebuilt from the ground up.

It's a party of political zombies.

Adding a journalist to a top secret government group chat about dropping bombs *IS* the kind of thing people who aren’t super politically literate can understand and find shocking/notable/disqualifying. Dems should seize on this and never ever let it go. I hope to hear about it in a decade

People are *really* mad that Obama isn't here to save them. I love Barack. But I regret to inform you that he is extremely "moderate". His politics are not going to make him the face of the resistance.

Top government officials sharing highly classified war plans in a group chat with unauthorized participants is possibly the biggest intelligence breach in U.S. history.

Democrats need to treat it more like that and less like a funny thing that happened.

i am a professional politics knower and without passing judgment on today’s little argument i will say that i agree with this. no one is entitled to a seat and if someone feels they could better represent the area they should go for it.

I'm not a professional politics-knower, but as a voter I just do not find the procedural 4D chess arguments people make with respect to whether someone "should" primary an elected official at all persuasive
