🇳🇱 - I think the most accurate description of me is that I like cats and Vsauce.
The voters have been lied to and manipulated into voting against their own interests. That's hard to accept, but it's the truth. One by one people will realize that Trump and MAGA are not in it for the betterment of the USA. They are not in Washington for you, they are there purely for themselves.

Every activism movement in history has made space for humor, music, art, gratitude, and beauty. It centers you and reminds you what you’re fighting for. Being relentlessly miserable is just a recipe for burnout and giving up.
I know our country is on fire. I know Trump is bad and is doing very bad things, and I often address those things with posts and reposts. But if I post a joke about my kid or my dog or a pleasant experience at a diner, don’t scold me for not exclusively talking politics 24/7. Please just ignore me.

Leja turned 10 today! She came into our family when she was 1.5 years old. In the shelter she stayed with the kittens because she didn't do well with older cats. So we also took home Loki, so they would stay together. Now an old lady herself, she has matured into a wonderful cuddlebutt #caturday

Very excited by the new series on Nuclear power by @smartereveryday.bsky.social It's incredibly well made and explains everything so clearly. Also looking forward to seeing more people like Andrew who are smart, passionate, good communicators, and proper nerdy like Destin. youtu.be/JVROsxtjoCw

Countries emptying their jails into America? Isn’t that what Trump did with the insurrectionists?

When you ask DeepSeek if Xi Jinping looks like Winnie the Pooh, it starts to reply but then gets overruled with:
"Sorry, that's beyond my current scope. Let’s talk about something else". It's supposed to be open source, so I'm curious if we're allowed to see what else is off limits.

It’s so weird that Elon Musk doesn’t care whether the government subsidizes electric vehicles now that there are a bunch of other companies benefitting from those subsidies.

I'm hoping this laminated A4 poster for "VANCOUVER'S PREMIUM TESLA CYBERTRUCK RENTAL SERVICE FOR UNFORGETTABLE EVENTS AND IMPACTFUL BRAND PROMOTIONS" is a trap to lure men into a therapy group to unravel toxic masculinity

@aoc.bsky.social made an important point on @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social in that Trump is scamming everybody. We get warned to keep an eye on our elderly relatives to prevent them getting scammed. Meanwhile in DC the same elderly folks run the government... Consider giving them a call.

Somebody yelled at me for posting about Ganymede instead of /the state of things/ last night.

I know we’re (almost) all on the same page here, but a Bluesky without cute cats, science facts, and dumb jokes would be bad for everyone.

If you always mean to add ALT text but you forget until it's too late, there's a toggle to prevent that in the accessibility section of your settings!

Leja has discovered my lap today. When I got her 8 years ago she wouldn't allow any touching. Now she goes straight on my lap after doing all her busy jobs. #catsofbluesky

I didn't actually think many tiktokers would end up here but it seems like there are quite a few! Anyway welcome and if you'd like more cats in your feed here is my starter pack of cat accounts run by real people, not bots:

I'm in the overlap of this Venn diagram...
Blue sky is awesome because a bunch of people who like to make jokes and a bunch of people who are incapable of identifying a joke are forced to share space

I'm sorry if TikTok was your thing and now it's gone. But the vibes I'm getting are very much 'people who've had their cigarettes taken away'. You're going to be ok, and you'll see that ultimately TikTok was bad for you. You'll also discover new destructive habits; because we always do.

@jameshoffmann.bsky.social I love my De'Longhi EC285. I got rid of the pressurized basket, but because the basket diameter is small, I feel that proper espresso grounds are too fine (puck is too thick?). This means that my cheap grinder grinds fine enough for this machine. Is it worth investigating?

The view in CAD is usually orthographic. That means there's no perspective so everything is nice and flat. Handy when designing, but turning perspective back on to view the final results can be pretty cool!
