Google has reverted to the level of AltaVista from the late 90s. AltaVista was useless because you had to scroll though pages of irrelevance to find what you were looking for. With the enshittification of Google, we are back to the future of Internet search with piles of crap to sift through.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

The life and passing of Viola Ford Fletcher serves to remind us that more than 100 years after the Tulsa race massacre, the sad fact is that racism is still alive and well in the USA.

Gallego to Hegseth: "You will never ever be half the man that Sen. Kelly is. You, sir, are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from the president shows how big of a coward you are. I can't wait until you are no longer the secretary of defense."

Important thread on accessibility...
Can we please discuss accessibility at conferences?

When organizers and schedules assume that everyone can walk fast and climb stairs, people with mobility issues (visible or invisible) might feel excluded.

Good morning welcome to Tippetty tap tap Thursday

Have you ever watched dust swirl in a sunbeam?
How the tiniest specks suddenly shimmer like gold?
Perhaps that is real transformation
not changing what something is,
but noticing it with softer, kinder eyes

Sad to see the CDC is now spreading fairly straightforward lies.
CDC has overhauled its website to assert that “the claim ‘vaccines do not cause autism’ is not an evidence-based claim”

You are worthy of your own kindness & you deserve to be loved by the person you spend every moment with—yourself

Fascism in action.
Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."

Disgusting.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Excellent rebuttal to the greedy and avaricious Boomer meme. Boomers simply made the best of the economic and political systems which evolved more or less independently of them. Many Boomers did well, but many, if not most, ended up with modest retirement lifestyles or struggling on welfare.
Boomers: Their lifetime spanned from ration books to smartphones, from the Cold War to climate wars, from the space race to the algorithmic age. No generation has seen so much or consumed so much. #auspol #Boomers
The last Boomer
Somewhere around 2085, give or take a few years, the last baby boomer will die. But their story is not, in the end, a story about age.

Excellent video. Essential viewing...
Thanks to @juansaaa.com for letting me know that this excellent Johnny Harris video on ICE enforcement is out. I talked to his producer for over an hour during the research process and I think it's a good overview of how we got here.

This interview had me in stiches... 🤣

"John Laws, thank you very much for making time to speak to us tonight," I said."
"Did you enjoy it?" Laws replied.
"I did enjoy it, did you?"
"Yeah, I loved every minute,"

www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...
When Laws showed up with bourbon in hand, I knew we would get a show
On 7.30 in 2012, John Laws held forth with his customary flair and confidence and then as I wrapped up, he delivered probably the most memorable and amusing ending to any interview I've done.

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Total Bullshit. If King really believes his own words, he is an idiot.
King: So I believe that we are closer tonight to a vote on the ACA tax credits than we were this morning. This agreement tonight is a win for the American people.

Democrats disgracefully cave in, gaining NOTHING in return.
This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

Not just today, but in every quiet moment.
In stories passed down, in poppies worn with pride
In the silence that speaks louder than words

Their courage shaped our peace.
Their sacrifice lives on

Today's "One First" explains why Stephen Miller is wrong that ICE officers have "federal immunity" from prosecution for all actions they take in their official duties, and that anyone attempting to prosecute them is committing a felony.

Supremacy Clause immunity is a thing, but it's *not* absolute:
186. When Can States Prosecute Federal Officers?
Stephen Miller claims that ICE officers have "immunity" for anything they do while enforcing immigration law. Even as an argument about *state* criminal prosecutions, that claim is overstated at best.
