A win! Thank you to everyone who spoke out! After facing bipartisan resistance, the Senate Parliamentarian, ruled that Sen. Mike Lee’s proposal to sell off millions of acres of federal land cannot be included under reconciliation rules.

The military action in LA, the bombing of Iran, the support of Israel’s genocide, the proposed sale of our public lands, these things are all connected as moves to increase individual wealth and undermine the already tenuous infrastructure of freedoms here.
The U.S. Senate is currently considering a budget reconciliation bill that quietly includes language that could devastate our public lands. It would:
- Make over 250 million acres of public land eligible for sale
- Mandate the sale of at least 2 million acres of Forest Service and BLM land

Line in the sand time for Congress: are you willing to send working class Americans to die in a foreign war in the Middle East?

If you do so, it will be a blemish on your record 100 times worse than the Iraq War.

Protect our troops. Support our troops. Do not send them to war.

Don't just say it's unconstitutional, remind people that the constitution is full of very good ideas designed to prevent authoritarianism, and most people who want to ignore it want that specifically because they are authoritarian.

Such a mix of emotions today. So thankful for the wonderful mothers and women in my life. Thinking of those who could not have children and those who have lost family, particularly through state sponsored violence. Trying to navigate the complexity of these two spaces.

Due process isn’t just about a defendant’s guilt or innocence.

Due process is a check on governmental power so guilt or innocence can be proven BEFORE a punishment is determined.

A democratic society relies on the rule of law. Without due process for all, we don’t have a true democracy.

NOAA’s research is vital for understanding climate change, forecasting weather, and supporting citizen science and science education. Worth a call to your reps, as congress has to approve cuts to funding.

❤️ grab the bright spots where we can.
Booker: Strom Thurmond’s record always kind of just really irked me. That the longest speech on our great Senate floor was from someone who was trying to stop people like me from being in the Senate. So to surpass that became more important to me.
