New Jersey, it is the honor of my life to earn your trust to become this great state’s 57th Governor.

I promise to listen, lead with courage, and never forget who I serve.

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.

Decision Desk has called both of Georgia's statewide races, for public service commissioner, for Democrats.

If confirmed, this would be a really huge win for Democrats:

It'd be their first statewide win in any non-federal race since 2006!

– Mass arrests under vague pretexts
– Targeting of protest organisers and journalists
– Expansion of emergency powers
– Demonisation of dissent as “terrorism”

Noem’s statement is true in the Trumpian sense. It’s an answer that, however wrong and stupid in our reality, conveys loyalty to Trump and defiance of anything not-Trump. That’s what being right means to Trumpers.
HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him.

He’s defying the Supreme Court.

Don’t you see what’s happening here?

Worth noting that due process is exactly how it is determined whether or not a person violated the law.

We need to stay VERY clear sighted on this point.

Indiana congresswoman says, “You violated the law, you don’t get due process.” These are the same lawmakers who oppose Red Flag Laws because they don’t provide armed domestic abusers with … due process.

Dear Manager,

1. I never gave you up, I never let you down
2. I never ran around or deserted you
3. I never made you cry
4. I never said goodbye
5. I never told a lie and hurt you
Dear Manager:
1. I have climbed highest mountains
2. I have run through the fields
3. I have run
4. I have crawled
5. I have scaled these city walls, these city walls.
Dear manager:
1: I went to the doctor
2: I went to the mountains
3: I looked to the children
4: I drank from the fountains
5: There's more than one answer to these questions

Mentality matters. It isn’t about thinking positive thoughts. It’s about not paralyzing ourselves. That’s what cynicism does.

If you don’t believe a better world is possible, then it isn’t. People can’t act - from the most radical organizing to the smallest - if they believe nothing is worthwhile.
