This is entertaining lawyering. They don't need the suit to be back on, they just needed to delay a day for Iowa's new anti-SLAPP law to go into effect.

Hence the motion to strike. Highly entertaining.
UPDATE: Des Moines Register lawyers say Trump can't drop the suit because an appeal is pending

The idea that the American experiment could fail at the hand of Bartleby, the Scrivener is wildly depressing and somehow taps into one of my darkest fears about society in general.

NEW 🧵

A quick thread of charts showing how Trump’s economic agenda is going so far:

1) US consumers are reacting very very negatively.

These are the worst ratings for any US government’s economic policy since records began.

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.

It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.

They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.

I’m happy to invest and/or help

I am incredibly thankful that this was just a popular song I listened to growing up and I regret that it isn't a timeless hit that everyone will grow up listening to during formative years. Share widely and share often. Wear sunscreen.

“Every current and former NNSA employee who spoke to The Bulwark was alarmed about the possibilities of this sort of brain drain, fretting that Musk and his tech-bro buds simply didn’t realize how unsuited the ‘turn everything off and see what breaks’ model was to their line of work.”
Inside DOGE’s Dumbest Cut Yet
Last week’s hastily reversed firings at the National Nuclear Security Administration have left a reeling, rattled agency in their wake.

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You don’t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. That’s tyranny.

Important update, on an otherwise terrible day nationally - this did, in fact, happen and it made today much better.

It was also all Disney World, since every episode theme was met with "is this tower of terror?"
After loving Tower of Terror at Disney World, I'm optimistic this will be the first year my 4 year old will watch the Twilight Zone marathon with me on New Year's Day. Wish me luck Bluesky

We always pretended to have special knowledge, but rarely did.
