Finally watched Adam Curtis' "Century Of Self" this week and it helped me understand our current political moment a bit more.

According to Curtis, the rise of mass marketing in the 1900s changed the "citizen" into a "consumer". And I believe a similar shift is happening again.

If the blueprint caused Twitter to collapse, it wouldn't really matter. No one would die or starve. We'd be fine. I guess Twitter still runs, if you can call it that.

Seems like the stakes are a lot higher with the federal government of the most powerful country on Earth.
When Musk bought Twitter, there were offers of paid exits, code reviews, eliminating of diversity programs, cutting of rent payments, and a reliance on staffers from his companies to enact his plans.

All of that is playing out now in DC. Twitter was a blueprint.
