Ok so yeah, this has quickly become the #1 misunderstanding about the canceled grants
the grants are not “subsidies” or “entitlements” to Harvard or Princeton or whatever
they aren’t going into universities’ endowments
they are competitive contracts won by these universities to do research

There is a PR narrative quickly emerging about “entitlement” of elite universities, as if this $ is some sort of subsidy
Harvard & others must counter this quickly
The $ doesn’t flow into Harvard’s coffers - this is grant money, most of which goes to research the govt has agreed has social value

Focus people.
Greenland, Panama, Canada, etc. are distractions. What the Trump admin is here to do is cut social security, Medicare/Medicaid, ACA subsidies, education, etc. to make room for tax cuts for rich people. Even cultural wars are just divisive and distracting from these goals.

It appears Musk came to US on a student visa, did not attend school and worked illegally here.
If he lied in his subsequent immigration applications he committed a felony level crime and could be stripped of his citizenship and security clearances.

What’s amazing about Musk claiming the reason he’s in America is the H1B visa is that it isn’t true. According to story below, he came here on a student visa, worked illegally and then got an H1B. He should release his immigration records to clear this up.
