This Texas bill wouldn't just make it a felony to take a teen out-of-state for an abortion—but to "fund" an out-of-state abortion for a teen.

In other words, giving your 17 year-old niece gas money could land you in prison. legiscan.com/TX/text/SB23...

“Women are equal citizens but we’re not gonna force a big fight to make sure they’re treated that way” is the most on-brand parting gift imaginable from the Democratic Party, 10/10, no notes.

Look I know there’s a lot going on in the world right now, but how in the H-E-double-hockey-sticks is there a TYPO in a #Prada ad and is this what Leonard Cohen meant when he warned of things sliding in all directions.

It struck me today that 80% of the lines from “Mr. Jones” could be slotted into the VF Cormac McCarthy piece with no one the wiser.

“After a monsoon, the sky is Sistine. To the west, lightning races the tousled embroidery of clouds in pink gilt. Everybody want to pass as cats.”

True. Would be good to see the @authorsguild.bsky.social negotiate a (better) collective agreement, though.
Something that I think is VERY important to emphasize is, regardless of the size of the offer, HarperCollins is acknowledging they do NOT have the right to use authors work for AI or LLMs without a new license.
“To call this bleak is an understatement.” HarperCollins is selling their authors’ work to AI tech.
