Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

Piggybacking off Premee: when they give the big, heartfelt speech/unexpected confession of love and it's to the wrong person.
Okay I don't watch or read a lot of romance so I was like "How micro can the microtrope be" but then I was like: wait wait no I know

Giving the big, heartfelt speech/unexpected confession of love at the WORST POSSIBLE MOMENT
Favorite romance microtrope, go!

Mine: someone gets pushed into a pond or fountain.

Younger people will be shocked to hear this, but way back when I grew up, anytime you saw a movie where some government official stopped someone on the street and demanded to see their identification papers, that was supposed to let you know they were the *bad* guys.

Are you KIDDING?! This is vile review manipulation 😱😱😱

W.E.B. Du Bois on Robert E. Lee:

“Either he knew what slavery meant when he helped maim and murder thousands in its defense, or he did not. If he did not he was a fool. If he did, Robert Lee was a traitor and a rebel–not indeed to his country, but to humanity and humanity’s God.”

Remember this image every time someone tells you that protesters are "hurting their cause."

Those people are the red bars. In 40 years, we'll look back at them the same way.

these guys have fully reframed what i once perceived as the awe-inspiring human endeavor of exploring the cosmos into an egomaniacal, corrosive, &, yes, as alluded in dude’s own words, colonialist undertaking. it’s not about wonder, it’s about hubris & conquering at any (financial & human) cost

There's always been autism. It was just "that boy's not right."

It was just "they're touched in the head."

It was just "deaf and dumb."

It was just "hysterical."

"Over sensitive."

"Melodramatic."

There's always been autism. You just chained them to a radiator and called it something else.

So.
I've counted. My work is worth about $70 at cheapest prices.

I'm giving it away for $6.

And as always, I've included something new, so this one also includes my previously-unpublished novella Campus Creatures.

Happy Pride 💜 I love you all.
