Thanks, as always, @alexanderchee.bsky.social for this reading warmup before I get into my own writing this morning. So many gems (😉) in the language here, but one of my faves:

Just logged back in to Instagram for the first time in...I have no idea how long. More than several weeks. Maybe two months?

Anyway, I didn't recognize any of the accounts as I scrolled. It's all ads. Didn't see anything from anyone I know.

Played the piano today for the first time since August. My soul has left my body. Don't bother with my remains. I'm not even here anymore.

I do love seeing these Gen Z fearless creative activists telling us what they’re doing out there to show us how we failed them. I do love it. All love for the young ones. Sorry for how we failed you. So new media is good for some things.

Thinking about how in pre-internet times trends, tools, and preferences used to cycle at a respectable tempo through social systems and how the “move fast and break things” crowd really applied their own ethos to new media.

New media feels so played out.

Every morning my alarm goes off at 5:15am so I can write before work. There are about 30 seconds during which I say no, not today, I can't do it. And then I remember the coffee is set up, waiting for me. My project document is open, where I left off, and this is the only time I have to write.

Long lost treasure unearthed:
Two long-lost organ pieces written by a teenage Johann Sebastian Bach were unveiled in Leipzig on Mon, Nov 17, in a discovery described as a "great moment for the world of music." The two solo organ works were written while Bach was working as an organ teacher in the town of Arnstadt in Thuringia.

I know we have more than enough recent examples that discredit any notion of the US being a meritocracy. But after two minutes perusing the Epstein emails its clear these “elites” climbed hierarchies through depravity, not skill or intelligence.
ok maybe the craziest thing about these epstein emails is how many of them are still emailing like this after october 2016 and the wikileaks dnc emails
