USTA capitulated to censorship & now should refund these folks' $$; trying to balance the fascist agenda with the capitalist one is not working out for the them #USOPEN
US Open: a very large crowd of spectators is waiting to get in the Arthur Ash Stadium. It is mainly due to the reinforcement of the security protocols imposed by the presence of Trump.

The USTA’s censorship of Trump dissent at the US Open is cowardly, hypocritical and un-American | Bryan Armen Graham
By asking broadcasters not to show any protest against Donald Trump at Sunday’s final, the governing body has caved to fear while contradicting its own history of spectacle

Ah, so ESPN/ABC is covering the fact that the match is delayed because of all the traffic and the extra security.

Pleased to see @lindaholmes.bsky.social mention Sugar (2008) in PCHH newsletter! Great movie that defies many conventions of the sport film. I use it in my Sport Film class and students really like it.

Any discussion of falling birth rates must be through a racial lens. When Black, Indigenous &other women of color have "too many" babies, they are vilified. And if they seek gov assistance to help support those children, they are accused of gaming the system. The gov's concern is over white babies.

The more coverage a story gets, the more important readers think it is.

So it matters when the NYT inflates flimsy Dem ‘scandals’ while downplaying real, criminal ones from Trump and Republicans. It’s not just bad judgment — it shapes public perception.

Every Cornell women’s hockey game I’ve been to has played both Canadian and US anthems (which still …ugh). Today for second round of NCAAs we get just US. Because of course NCAA has that policy. Also of note almost the entire starting lineups for both teams is Canadian.

Just got fired from being a freshman football coach, if you want to know what MAGA does to communities.

They don’t care about what helps people, because the school is certainly not going to find an ex-NFL player willing to coach there at that level, they only care about trying to hurt people.
