One thing I've discovered about learning Japanese is how many people will make excuses for their own failures - and will pass those excuses to potential new learners to discourage them. Don't listen to naysayers, embrace the challenge and reap the rewards. #learnjapanese

（ジョウビタキはわからないが）カワセミさまは別に英語圏にもいるだろ、と思うかもだが、最近読んだ『カワセミの暮らし』によると、けっこう地域ごとに色の濃淡が違ったりするらしいよ。日本や東アジアではちょっと色が淡い/薄いんだとか。ふしぎだね

The three magi here are one of the only contemporary color depictions of "Sasanian" noble dress. The 6–7th century "Adoration of the Magi" miniature bound into the Echmiadzin Gospels (989). Yerevan, Matenadaran, Ms. 2374 (formerly Etchmiadzin Ms. 229), fol. 229r.
