My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

Burnout is clinically understood as a combo of 6 factors—work overload, lack of control, insufficient rewards, breakdown in community, absence of fairness, & value conflicts—and only a fraction of it is under your control. Burnout is a systemic problem, so be kind to yourself and hard on the system.
Hey gang I've had to learn recently that the whole "burning out" thing is real so if you find yourself being panicked every waking second that you're not working on something, despite those seconds being very rare, you should maybe listen to the signals and take an intentional break before you crash

For a big part of my life I genuinely felt like I was more of a fan of the writers, reporters, and personalities that covered games more than I was of games themselves. Today really feels like the day that games media was killed with Giant Bomb and Polygon effectively being just… gone

With the Oblivion remaster taking up the hype cycle, it's probably a good time to re-up that the Palestinian-led BDS movement has asked for a boycott of Microsoft's gaming products due to the company's ongoing and enthusiastic technical support for the IDF's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Gaming hot take: Items in games should have expiration or best by dates. They should degrade in value over time to keep people from just hoarding them. This would drive a subset of gamers insane and I’m here for it.
