Populist Dems won. Moderate Dems won. We won in blue states. We won in purple states.

Maybe the take is that (a) people think Trump is out of control; and (b) people like Dems when we're taking a stand and fighting for what we believe in - as we have been for the last month.

In Chicago, educators like music teacher Kathryn Zamarrón are stepping up to protect immigrant students and families from ICE. Amid the Trump admin's attacks, schools should be havens of safety and joy where every child feels they belong. Read more in American Educator ⬇️

A few months ago, I started to hear from history teachers that the curriculum materials they’d used for years were being pulled from the market, or they were not being allowed to use them because of political pressures. My investigation of this trend published today: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/27/u...

I don't have a dog in the "who's gonna be the new pope" fight but for crosswording purposes, some cardinals whose names have very valuable letter combinations but haven't appeared in crosswords yet include ERDO (that's a big one), TAGLE, OUELLET, and PAROLIN. www.huffpost.com/entry/next-p...
These Cardinals Are Seen As Contenders To Be The Next Pope
Even though cardinals don’t campaign for the job, there are always front-runners going into a conclave to choose the next pope.

Trump wants you to fear what can happen to you if you resist. But you should really be fearing what will happen to you, and your loved ones, and your country if you don’t resist.

Everyone with a history degree should be screaming their heads off right now. We can’t let Trump flush the Bill of Rights. Free Mahmoud Khalil.

A Florida high school teacher has been fired for using a student's chosen name instead of their deadname, a first under a 2023 law signed by Ron DeSantis. “She is a beloved teacher that changed her students’ lives” said one parent leading a petition with 7,400 signatures demanding her reinstatement

There’s an alternate universe out there where Harris won and the most ridiculous things on the news are a Fox panel on whether her yellow cardigan is “presidential” and a viral clip of Tim Walz butchering the name of an entree at a fancy restaurant.

Happy #PublicSchoolsWeek!

Let's celebrate everything our public schools do for kids and families-but we also must recognize what's at stake. We must demand that lawmakers strengthen, not undermine, public schools.
