Democrats need to lay the groundwork for reform by attacking the villains on the Supreme Court - loudly, angrily, personally, relentlessly. And they should start now.

Democrats Need to Treat the Supreme Court Like the Villain It Is
The Court is out of control, and we'll never see reform unless we build the case for it. Starting now.

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

This is a message that I hope is true, and that needs to get out there if so. Because it seems pretty likely we are going to have the military posted in swing states and districts to scare away Democratic voters. At least, I hope it's military and not our paramilitary ICE/CBP goons.
Hey yo folks.
Veteran here.
That kid or weekend warrior who may be standing there at the polls in full-battle-rattle WON’T WANT TO BE THERE.
And the reason they will look pissed is because standing there in all that gear SUCKS.
THEY WON’T BE MAD AT YOU. DON’T BE AFRAID OF THEM.

Ruben Gallego on whether Trump is talking to Democrats:

“Look, the President clearly has some kind of dementia, so I think there's a he's probably talking to himself, or think he's talking to a Democrat, but I sincerely doubt that that's actually he's actually physically talking to a Democrat.“

I appreciated Senator Schiff's work on the oversight hearing today. Bondi is not even close to in his league.
"This is supposed to be an oversight hearing" -- Schiff helpfully ticks through all of the incriminating questions -- and there are many of them -- that Bondi refused to answer during today's hearing

Dear @apnews.com

The republicans control congress. Democrats did not vote down anything. If the GOP wanted to fund the government, they could have changed the rules to pass a CR with a simple majority like they did 11 days ago to approve 48 trump appointees at once.

Fix your headline.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Murkowski’s vote. It contains, in one action, so much that defines our pathetic political moment:

Selfishness: I’m taking care of me and mine, the rest of you can pound sand;

Lack of accountability: I know the bill is bad, hopefully someone else will fix it;

Trans people every right to be furious with the ongoing silence of those who aren't speaking up, and it's insane to me that there are non-trans people who want a pass on this.

You don't get a pass. Either you care about us, or you don't.

Maybe with an "American" pope, American Catholics will listen to his teachings. Conservative American clergy might need to rethink things. JD Vance certainly had a little theology lesson from Leo XIV.

Protests aren’t the only tool in the anti-authoritarian toolkit, but they’re incredibly important. Protests help us see each other; they make it feel safer to refuse to obey the dictator, and make it more possible for us to organize mass non-cooperation.

It’s an essential step in the process.
