Jim Comey's discovery requests say DC USAO destroyed records relating to journalists (Mike Schmidt, Adam Goldman, Matt Apuzzo, and Eric Lichtblau) when they closed that investigation, which is good news, if true, for them, but a problem for prosecutors.

Too be clear on this: DC USAO was probably RIGHT to destroy these files, bc they were obtained in violation of DOJ media guidelines (this was a YUGE story in 2021). But that also means DOJ has destroyed evidence that would exculpatory to Comey.

Too be clear on this: DC USAO was probably RIGHT to destroy these files, bc they were obtained in violation of DOJ media guidelines (this was a YUGE story in 2021). But that also means DOJ has destroyed evidence that would exculpatory to Comey.
