Immigration to the United States should be straightforward and simple. We are a nation of immigrants. Twice Democrats have tried to fix our broken immigration system with a bipartisan compromise and Republicans rejected them. When we regain power in Washington, no more attempts at compromise.

ICE is not a long-held bedrock of the American government’s web of agencies. It only come into existence in 2003. Its functions can be reallocated to agencies without the stains of honor that ICE and the Department of Homeland Security now bear. Abolish ICE.

As Newsday itself has reported, ICE locked nine people for long periods of time in a cell intended for the short term holding of a single person. The prisoners were kept in conditions one judge called “putrid”.

When Dems retake power we need to turn a firehose on the corruption and dirty dealing that's gone on for the last few years, and put people in jail for it. Simple as that.
The Trump family has amassed a $4 billion fortune since his re-election.
During my time as Ambassador, I was accused of "focusing too intensely on the issue of corruption." There's no such thing.
We need leaders who serve the people — not themselves.
